Walkthrough

Fellhollow is rotting under Imaru, the soul-devourer. Rift your soul to reach the region, gather three curse fragments and end her in Hope's Fall.

1. 1

   Open the runed door

   Find the Wise Old Man by Ashien's Watch. He has studied the strange door's necromantic runes and passes you the password; choose option 1 at the door to open it and reach the Forgotten Temple.

2. 2

   Speak with Death

   Climb the temple steps and talk to Death, who explains Imaru and the state of Fellhollow, then shows you his store of rare goods bought with soul fragments. Follow the path to your right to find Postie Pete. A lodestone already sits at the temple, so you need not build one.

3. 3

   Cross the wither water

   Postie Pete explains that entering Fellhollow means wading through the wither water. As you cross, Wither builds and your soul rifts, letting you use the nearby spectral door; step through to arrive in Bleakfields Valley. This first crossing grants permanent Fellhollow access on every world.

   Purify your soul

   Imaru senses you the moment you arrive, so move quickly to a purifying pool — fountains marked with blue beacons on your compass. Strike the spectral tangles until they clear to cleanse your soul, then find Cathan on a cliff beside three carved stone tablets.

   Dispel the Emberwood barrier

   Cathan sets you to collect curse fragments. For grief, activate the four god shrines around Emberwood to drop the barrier, then take the fragment from the village: Guthix's altar needs a green dragon defeated first, Saradomin's must be repaired with the symbol below the lake rock, Armadyl's is unlocked by solving the ghost murder on the river island, and Zamorak's is reached by dropping through the temple roof.

6. 6

   Take rage and despair

   For rage, clear the Vekchenven Kara vault beneath the waterfall at the Lake of Lost Souls and beat the zogre guarding the shard. For despair, fight up through Silverthorn Keep past the rotsworn undead and a green dragon to the curse seal.

   Enter Imaru's lair

   Bring all three fragments to Imaru's Tower in Hope's Fall and choose option 1 at the seal. Inside, Imaru rises from the river; she phases in and out of the soul rift and tries to heal by devouring souls, so keep the damage on her. Four purifying pools line the lair.

   Deliver Imaru's head

   Keep one free inventory slot, then carry Imaru's head back to Death and hand it over to finish the quest.
