The Judgment: power, stats and playstyle

The Judgment is a Celestial enforcer that razed the world of Terra Primus for aspiring to godhood. In-game it is a 4.4 m/s killer with a 32-metre Terror Radius and a Tall profile, wielding the Staff of Absolution. Its power, Will of the Gods, has four moving parts:

  • Divine Light. Hold the power button to steer a column of light for up to 3 seconds, then cast it forward. The longer you steer, the shorter the cast delay and the longer the beam stays lethal.
  • Heresy. Survivors hit by Divine Light, or who taunt you by crouching or lingering in the exit gate, become Heretics. Heretics suffer punishing generator skill checks that lose progress on a good result, and can repent at a Shrine of Judgment to burn it off.
  • Exile. Down a Heretic and you can send them to the Exile instead of a hook. It counts as a hook state, does not trigger hook perks, and traps them in a gauntlet of Seeds of Punishment while teammates pray at a Shrine to rescue them.
  • Zealous. Sending someone to the Exile grants 60 seconds of Zealous: Divine Light grows 10%, its cooldown drops 20%, and you keep control of the beam longer.

The result is a killer who wins by controlling space and snowballing Exiles, not by landing basic hits. See the full kit on The Judgment's killer page, then test it in the Build Creator as The Judgment.

The Judgment's three killer perks

Celestial Witness

Every 30 seconds, if the Obsession is at least 40 metres away, you see their aura for 2/2.5/3 seconds. If they are close, the farthest Survivor becomes the Obsession. A tracking perk that keeps a target on the board.

Hex: Under Your Thumb

The first time a Survivor is hooked, a Dull Totem ignites. Running Survivors can no longer gain more than 25/20/15% Haste at once, and you are alerted when a running Survivor within 32 metres gains Haste. A direct answer to Haste-heavy survivor builds.

Lay Waste

Damaging a generator makes it regress 2% faster for each Charge it has, on a 55/50/45-second cooldown. More progress to punish means faster regression, which fits the Exile snowball.

Aurora Stardotter and the new survivor perks

Aurora Stardotter is a saviour of Terra Primus who reads the future in the stars. She is the 54th survivor and brings three perks that reward teamwork and generator control. Read her full loadout on the Aurora Stardotter survivor page.

Fruits of Your Labor

Completing generators banks tokens. Finish repairing a generator and each token grants 5% Haste for 2 seconds plus 10/15/20% healing progress.

Salvation's Cry

When the killer starts chasing you, you see other Survivors' auras for 1/2/3 seconds, and they see your aura and the killer's aura for 5 seconds. Built for coordinated rescues and solo-queue information.

Boon: Steadfast

Bless a totem into a Boon that slows generator regression by 50% and speeds up repairs by 8/9/10% inside its range. Survivors in range also see affected generators. This is the anti-regression answer to the current killer slowdown meta.

Base game and perk changes in patch 10.1.0

Chorus of Sin also shipped balance changes that affect every match:

  • Unhook Protections rework. Unhooking now grants Endurance and 10% Haste for 10 seconds (down from 15), plus a new Elusive status for 10 seconds that stops once all generators are powered.
  • A Nurse's Calling reveals all Survivors in a healing interaction within 28/30/32 metres, regardless of health state.
  • Call of Brine regression window extended to 90 seconds.
  • Coulrophobia healing slowdown reduced to 20/25/30%.
  • Hex: Thrill of the Hunt totem defense reduced to 8/9/10% slower cleansing and blessing.

The full list is in our DBD patch notes database.

Is The Judgment good? The early meta read

Early community tier lists put The Judgment around B tier: real ranged control with a high execution ceiling, held back by controller aiming and the setup Exile requires. Patch 10.1.1 then doubled the Zealous curve window from 0.3 to 0.6 seconds, making Divine Light more forgiving. It is the kind of kit that climbs a tier once players master the beam.

See where it sits against every other killer in the killer tier list, or plan a loadout in the DBD Build Creator. Tracking which chapters you own? The chapters & DLC tracker now includes Chorus of Sin.
