Walkthrough

Zanik teaches you rune crafting — mining essence, building an altar and making your first runes.

1. 1

   Find Zanik

   Go east from Vannaka to the road leading to Bramblemead Village and speak to Zanik.

   Gather logs

   Collect 50 ash logs, then talk to her again.

3. 3

   Mine rune essence

   Zanik explains the Axtral Projection and gives you a stone pickaxe. Mine rune essence from the rune essence geysers — knock the rocks on the ground down with ranged or magic attacks.

4. 4

   Build a rune altar

   Gather 12 stone and 4 rune essence, then build a rune altar from the Building menu under the Crafting tab.

5. 5

   Craft runes

   Make some air runes and astral runes, then return to Zanik. She sends you to the Wise Old Man to begin Warding Off Danger.
