The Short Version
- Ranged is the big winner. Ammo Recovery, subclass special attacks and Low Blow all arrived in 1.0.1, and Rune arrows and bolts now beat Adamant.
- Jump Attack is live. The Attack perk Death From Above! turns a jump into a plunging area attack.
- More inventory room. The inventory grew from 32 to 40 slots, with separate ring and amulet slots.
- Save recovery. Corrupted characters can rejoin with aggregated stats and Tier 4 gear, and disappearing world saves received targeted fixes.
- Quests got a recap. The new Completed Quests tab summarizes each quest's outcome.

Combat Changes in 1.0.1
Jump Attack
Unlock the Attack perk Death From Above! and you can attack while airborne. Jump from slightly above the maximum height of the double jump, then attack to slam into enemies below. Damage scales with the weapon you are holding, and Windstep counts as height. The wiki lists the perk at level 25 Attack.
Ranged special attacks
Each ranged subclass now has its own special attack:
- Shortbow — Rapid Fire: hop backwards and fire three arrows in quick succession. You can switch targets between shots.
- Longbow — Power Shot: take a knee, draw a full-strength arrow and release a long-range shot.
- Crossbow — Heavy Bolt: charge a bolt and fire; it applies Enchanted effects on hit.
Ranged perks
- Ammo Recovery and Greater Ammo Recovery give a chance to recover arrows from slain enemies.
- Low Blow applies Hamstrung when a ranged attack hits an enemy in the legs, reducing movement speed briefly. Tiny and Colossal enemies are immune.
The practical read: Ranged has more sustain and more crowd-control than it had at launch. See the Ranged page for the full perk list, including the 1.0.1 additions.
Balance changes
- Rune arrows and bolts now deal more damage than Adamant: 4.9x versus 4.2x.
- The Amulet of Glory had bonuses above the intended values, so its numbers were reduced.
- The Fishing Cape now correctly displays its Skillcape perk: a small chance to catch a fish instantly.
- Enfeeble now reduces damage effectively across all enemy types.
Inventory and Quality of Life
- Inventory 32 → 40. More room for arrows, runes, food and potions.
- Separate ring and amulet slots. You no longer have to choose between the two.
- Completed Quests tab. The quest journal now shows a short summary of each completed quest's outcome.
- Sort improvements. Sort by weight, type or most recently picked up.
- Ultra Compost Bin and Large Compost Bucket. More farming capacity.
- Overdrive on the Advanced Spinning Wheel.
Save Recovery and Stability
1.0.1 added a catch-up path for corrupted character saves. Affected characters can rejoin with aggregated stats and Tier 4 gear instead of losing the character entirely. World-save disappearance received fixes in 1.0.0.8 and 1.0.1, and Jagex said small numbers of players may still be affected.
On dedicated servers, restart after each hotfix so the new build loads. Keep a local backup of any save you cannot afford to lose.
1.0.1.2 Hotfix
- Air Magic staff combo's fourth hit now deals damage and applies on-hit effects.
- Runecrafting values no longer reset to 1/50 when an amulet or ring degrades.
- Controller stack splitting in chests no longer hitches or freezes.
- Xbox Series X hosted worlds can accept more than one Xbox client again.
- Additional fixes for Kuldra skips in the Scorned Wilderness raid.
- Players with the same display name no longer lose progress on a failed login.
- Dragon Scimitar now allows Jump Attack in the cases where it previously failed.
- Silent quests now show the correct objective text in the quest UI.
- Linux-based dedicated servers no longer crash when teleporting.
