How is the child Pal calculated?

childRank = floor((rankA + rankB)/2) → nearest Pal with breedingRank <= average. If a unique combo exists for that parent pair, it overrides the formula.

What determines egg size and hatch time?

Egg size is tied to child rarity: Small (rank ≥1200), Normal (≥600), Large (≥200), Huge (1–199). Smaller rank = rarer = larger egg and longer hatch.

Can variants be bred?

Variant children (Cryst/Noct/Ignis etc.) only appear via a unique combo that lists that variant, or when both parents are the same variant species. They are not random.
